Behaviour, Well-being and Mental Health
Parayhouse is committed to providing a safe, nurturing and secure environment in which our students can learn and develop.
We have a whole-school approach to maintaining high standards of behaviour that reflect the values of our school. We provide a consistent approach to behaviour management that is applied equally to all pupils whilst taking into account their varying needs, communication and sensory challenges.
We are aware that for many of our students their emotional and physical well-being are intertwined with their behavioural presentation and thus readiness to learn. We are committed to supporting all of these aspects of our students' lives in order to maximise their chances to develop and succeed.
The school follows Positive Behaviour Support principles from the Crisis Prevention Institute and our staff receive training on these strategies and interventions. The school follows a positive touch policy and is committed to the safety and well-being of all students.
