Learning Support Assistants

Parayhouse School has a vacancy for two FULL-TIME, LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANTS [LSAs]

[Salary within the range £18,248 to £20,915]

Parayhouse is a non-maintained special school, run by a registered charity to provide a specialist education for students from 7 - 16 with speech, language & communication needs, moderate learning difficulties and emotional, social & behavioural needs. We currently serve 13 London Boroughs and students are spread across 5 classes, based on language and learning levels. We are co-located in part of the Hammersmith & Fulham College, with excellent transport links.

We are seeking two enthusiastic, experienced and committed LSAs to join our multi-disciplinary team, based in our youngest/most complex needs class, and an older class working around the middle of our ability range. Much of the formal academic work is carried out in pairs and small groups, and LSAs share in the delivery of the curriculum. Experience of working with students who have a range of learning needs and challenging behaviours is essential.

This post is available for an immediate start following a successful interview and good references. The closing date for applications is Monday 10th September at 12pm, with interviews later that week.

Candidates shortlisted for interview will be required to tour the school and spend a lesson in one of the two classes, to see & understand our collaborative practice.

Parayhouse is committed to safeguarding children and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS check will be required for the successful candidate.

Please complete the attached application form, and return it to the Head teacher Mrs. Eileen O’Shea or contact Ann Sullivan for an application form.
