Annual Events

There are a number of events that take place across the year – the dates for these are always given out well in advance, as we want as many staff as possible to attend.

October:

The first of two parent/teacher evenings takes place, The New Start Meeting. Parents are offered 30 minute appointments on a choice of 2 days, from 3.30 – 7pm; parents can also choose to have a telephone call with their child’s teacher if they prefer.

The Key Teacher runs the meeting, SLTs attendance is agreed on a priority basis, and it is really appreciated if LSAs stay for as many appointments as possible.

December:

In the build up to the Christmas Show there will be some Prop making sessions after school, 4-6pm, refreshments provided and all volunteers welcome!

The School’s Christmas Disco is a whole school, whole staff and family affair, and often we have past students returning.

The School’s Christmas Show takes place twice – once for a morning performance the secondly at 6pm. Again, this is a whole school, whole staff event.

March:

The second of two parent/teacher evenings takes place, The Progress Meeting. Again, parents are offered 30 minute appointments on a choice of 2 days, from 3.30 – 7pm; parents can also choose to have a telephone call with their child’s teacher if they prefer.

The Key Teacher runs the meeting, SLTs attendance is agreed on a priority basis, and it is really appreciated if LSAs stay for as many appointments as possible.

May

Sailing Day – this is a whole school event, at Hampton Young Mariners, and we also have a BBQ lunch afterwards. Staff can also sail if they wish.

June:

School Birthday Party – this takes place at the School, from 12 – 3pm, usually on the 3rd Saturday in June. It is a family fun day, and staff man the drinks tent & BBQ, plus run a lot of different stalls and activities, and there is a raffle. The emphasis is on fun and being all together, rather than fundraising, although we do aim to cover costs. Again, this is a whole staff event, and all staff families are most welcome.

July:

Sports Day.

This is held at Barn Elms playing fields, Hammersmith, and is a whole school & staff event to which all students’ families are invited. We have a picnic lunch after the sports day, followed by the medal presentation.

Prizegiving and Leavers’ Assembly

This normally takes place on the last day of the Summer Term, in the afternoon, and is open to all families but particularly those of our Y11 leavers. Beforehand staff nominate students for effort prizes in all subjects, and our leavers give a speech/presentation about their time at Parayhouse. Afterwards there are refreshments and students leave for the summer holidays.
