SCHOOL NEWS

It was so good to see everyone again on Monday after our enforced closure, due to the weather and transport issues!!

FOXES

Work experience to Foxes Hotel, Minehead, Somerset.

On Monday Mrs. Routley and Mr. Cayford left with Ayyub Serroukh, Ellis Zoppola, Selasie Seade, Abdishakuur Kossar and Adeolu Ade-Ajayi.

Mrs. Routley was very pleased to report that Foxes staff had told her that our students were the most polite and hardworking students they had ever had at Foxes - what a wonderful comment!

Full report next week but here is a photo of the students ready for duty.  Mrs. O’Shea also visited everyone for the day on Wednesday and was amazed at the work the students were undertaking.

Multi sports event

Yesterday the following students took part in the Panathlon Multi Sports event – Feyona Mirach, Naser Atassi, Toby Georgiadis, Abdirasheed Mohamed, Elsharief Mohamed, Zubeida Akter, Georgie-Ryan Arnold-Cox, Ezechiel Kouadio, Elorm Avadzi and Yousef Allaf.

Many thanks to Yousef and Naser stepping in to cover absent students!

My favourite part of Panathlon was playing the table cricket because I won" - Naser

"On Thursday 10 students from Parayhouse competed at the London Panathlon event.

Not only did our students shine in all of their events but the behaviour and teamwork with the rest of Hammersmith and Fulham students was excellent. We are very proud of them!" - Miss Pembroke

Ex-student update …

Last week we heard from Claire Durtnall, our ex-Governor and mum of our ex-student Harry, with some fabulous pictures of Harry working in the canteen at Paddock School.  You can see how professional he looks!

Claire writes “Harry turned 18 last week and is now working on Wednesday mornings at Paddock Cafe from 10 to 11 o’clock, which he LOVES!

Harry says he would like Parayhouse staff and students to visit so we shall be arranging a trip out for coffee next term!

World Book Day

We have rescheduled WBD for Wednesday 14th March 2018.

PROGRESS MEETINGS

Tuesday 6th March – it was so good to see so many parents on Tuesday for their child’s progress meeting.  Mrs. Eileen O’Shea [Head Teacher from September] also attended, to introduce herself to parents.

Tuesday 13th March – 2nd progress meeting - all appointment slips have been sent out, Mrs. O’Shea will also be attending to meet with parents.

Those parents who have requested a telephone appointment should receive them the following week.

WANTED - ROOM FOR THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER 2018

We have a student from Heidelberg University joining Parayhouse staff for the month of September – he is looking to rent a room for this period. If you can help then please contact the school office for more details.

MARATHON MUM!

Harriet – Lettie in Pluto’s Mum

Harriet completed the mini Marathon and has send this message…

I would like to say a big thank you from me to all the very kind parents who sponsored me in the Big Half, which I (and Mo Farah!) ran on Sunday.

I raised more than £6000 for Phab Kids, which is just fantastic, and the charity is absolutely thrilled.

Here’s a pic of me at the end - I was enjoying it less than the photo implies!

Thank you so much,

Harriet
