TATE MODERN TRIPS

MS Codd writes…

Trip to Tate Modern

Following on from last week's art trip, Saturn visited Tate Modern on Monday 29 January to explore the artworks in the Objects and Materials galleries.

Ms. Codd makes a worksheet or devises activities for art trips, so that children can engage with artworks in a meaningful and focused way. Here is a page from Ezekiel's worksheet:

Once again, children and staff really enjoyed having a swing with One Two Three Swing! In the Turbine Hall part of the gallery, as you can see in this photo of Mr. Jackson and Keon. Abdishakuur came along on the trip to help us out and came back to school with a big smile, saying that he had had a "Great time!"

Wool for School

Dear Parents / Carers

Can you help us please? In Art we are making some sculptures using wool and we need lots more. Any donations, large or small, would be very much appreciated!

Thanks

Ms. Codd

PANATHALON CHALLENGE

Last Friday a group of students from Parayhouse School took part in the Panathalon challenge competing against other schools.  All the students showed great sportsmanship, competing with enthusiasm, excitement and fairness.  The students returned to school buzzing, unable to stop sharing their experience from the day.  Thank you to all the students for their efforts and to all the staff who supported them and helped in organising such a memorable day.

NUMBER DAY

Today was Number Day and we wore numbers to raise money for the NSPCC. We raised £59.15

MISSING UNIFORM

Dean Said [Jupiter group] has lost his fleece. It is extra-large and it has a D clearly marked on the Parayhouse logo.  Please can parents check if it has found its way to your home!

Thank you

SPECIAL NEEDS EMPLOYMENT AGENCY

There was a programme last night on Channel 5, at 10pm about an agency especially for SEN student.  If you missed it please try to watch it on catch up – the second part will be next week - same time same channel. The programme shows how young people can succeed, whatever the challenges, with a little help and support.

SUMMER EXAMINATIONS

Parents and students will have received their examinations timetable this week. Please read it carefully, especially the dates when the exams will take place and try not to organise appointments during this period.

Thank you for your support!
