VISITORS

This week we have welcomed two speech and language students from City University – Rachel and Suki.  They will be working here for one day a week till next year.

Also Mr. Richard Crawshaw [ex teacher at Parayhouse] visited on Tuesday. Richard and family have relocated from Australia to France, so Richard hopped over the Channel to visit.  He was very impressed with the building, having worked at Parayhouse when we were in less luxurious facilities!!

On Thursday we welcomed Brigit Corday

Bridget founded and runs one of the only SEN schools in Seim Reap (Cambodia). The work she and others are doing in Cambodia is amazing!! Brigit visited all of our groups and was impressed with our facilities especially the sensory room.

Miss Raggett wrote…

On Thursday it was our great delight to welcome Bridget Cordory from Grace House (based in Siem Reap, Cambodia) to Parayhouse School.

During the summer I led a team of 28 British and American teachers in Cambodia to support and train local Khmer teachers.  While there, I wanted to find out what was available for children with SEN. The answer was very little, then I came across Grace House and was blown away by the school and the projects they run.

I wanted to know if we could support them in anyway and create a partnership between the two schools.

The hope is that we will be able to fundraise for Grace House and that our students will be able to write and receive letters from the students at their school. Further to this, we hope that staff will be able to offer training and advice to the Khmer teachers.

Other news…

We were delighted on Wednesday to receive a letter and very generous donation from an ex-student’s Godfather. He said it was a belated thank you for all the happy times his Godson had spent with us – how kind. We may use the money for a whole school outing.

JUPITER CLASS VISITOR

On Wednesday, Horrid Henry visited Parayhouse School for Toby’s birthday!

He read in the book corner and was even in timeout when he did not follow the class rules!

We hope to see Henry again soon!

PANATHLON EVENT

On Thursday the following students represented Parayhouse and the LBHF at a Panathlon Football event:

Ezechiel, Mia, Amy, Isa, Tyler, Georgie-Ryan, Elsharief, Elorm, Feyona, Ayyub, Ellis, Abdirasheed and Miles.

Mr. Jackson reports ….

All students who took part in the Panathlon Football Competition had a fun time playing football. We finished in 3rd place, which enables us to take part in the Panathlon Plate Final on the 22nd of November at Wembley!

FLUFFY IS STILL LOOKING FOR A HOME

Hi all, I'm moving to sunnier shores so need a loving and caring family to re-home my healthy and friendly rabbit, Fluffy who loves cuddles, being stroked and children.
She's a 7 year old Dutch rabbit with all the up to date vaccinations.
She's a free, indoor rabbit who has never been caged/locked up, so loves to wander (within the boundaries).  She also safely plays out in the garden but has an indoor cage to eat and do her waste in.
Any interest, then please contact me on l.charles@parayhouse.com. Thanks

Leasta
